Dear Valued Customers,

In view of the recent developments affecting the Black Sea region and the resulting increase in operational and insurance-related risks, we would like to inform you that Silmar Shipping is implementing BLACK SEA RISK SURCHARGE (BRS) for all shipments to and from Novorossiysk.

This measure has become necessary to ensure the continued reliability and sustainability of our services while maintaining safe operations for our vessels, crew and cargo under the current circumstances.

In accordance with the Carrier’s applicable Tariff and Bill of Lading terms, including the Carrier’s rights in respect of extraordinary operational, security, congestion, diversion, delay, and related cost events, the Carrier will apply the following surcharge.

The surcharge will be effective immediately and will apply to all relevant bookings as outlined below.

Effective Date: August 10, 2026

Scope: Cargo from/to Novorossiysk

Applicable to all shipments moving from/to Novorossiysk, including Dry Containers, Reefer Containers, Carrier Owned Containers (COC), and Shipper Owned Containers (SOC).

Applicable ChargesUSD 500 per TEU
Applicable to all cargo currently on the water, including shipments already accepted for carriage and cargo awaiting transshipment.

The above surcharge will remain in effect until further notice and may be revised or withdrawn depending on developments in the region.

The Carrier remains committed to serving the Black Sea market via the Port of Novorossiysk and will continue accepting bookings subject to space, equipment, operational feasibility, port and terminal conditions, safety and security considerations, regulatory requirements, and the Carrier’s applicable terms and conditions.

The Carrier reserves all rights and liberties available under its Bill of Lading, Tariff, booking terms, contracts of carriage, and applicable law, including the right to amend schedules, adjust routings, transship, omit or substitute ports, delay, suspend, discharge, store, or otherwise deal with cargo where necessary or appropriate in light of prevailing operational circumstances. Schedules, transit times, arrival/departure dates, and connections are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Carrier may review, adjust, suspend, withdraw, or replace this surcharge by further notice, Tariff publication, website publication, or invoice, subject to mandatory applicable law and without prejudice to the Carrier’s rights, defenses, limitations, exemptions, liens, indemnities, and remedies.
